The Jaco Report, Ep. 4: St. Louis County Prosecutor Wesley Bell says his focus is on reform, violent crimes

St. Louis County’s reform-minded new chief prosecutor says he has little interest in convening a new grand jury in the case of Darren Wilson, the white officer whose killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson sparked months of unrest. Wesley Bell, the county’s first African-American prosecuting attorney tells The Jaco Report that his focus instead is on reforms to the bail system, eliminating bail requirements for people arrested for minor, non-violent crimes. Bell also says his refusal to prosecute possession of marijuana under 3 1/2 ounces will free police and prosecutors to focus on more serious, violent crimes.
