FOREST PARK – A group of children from Puerto Rico are getting a crash course in circus performing in St. Louis. Circus Harmony has teamed up with the National Circus School of Puerto Rico to create the unusual cross-culture educational experience.
Jessica Hentoff of Circus Harmony says they’re part of a national network of circus groups, all looking to promote social change while entertaining.
The children say they’re finding some similarities between St. Louis and their Caribbean home.
“The city looks a lot like ours,” Coralys Vasquez said through an interpreter. “It’s hot like ours. It’s pretty big. Very colorful. I like it a lot.”
