Treasurer will offer installment plans to pay tickets

ST. LOUIS – City Treasurer Tishaura Jones announced Friday that her office would offer installment payment plans for people with high outstanding balances for parking violation fines and penalties.  The payment plans will start in 2020.

“Everyone cannot afford to pay for outstanding parking tickets all at once, and I don’t want someone to lose their vehicle over minor violations,” Jones said in statement.

Specifics about who will qualify and what the plans will require are still being worked out.

“Parkers must still follow applicable laws, sign up quickly for a payment plan, and make monthly payments on time to avoid getting booted or towed,” the statement said.

While the plan is being developed, drivers should still expect to pay all fines for violations.
