No more free parking: Meter enforcement resumes

ST. LOUIS — Feed that parking meter before you walk away from your car on Monday. During the coronavirus pandemic, Treasurer Tishaura Jones halted enforcement of most parking rules, including meter use; but as of Monday, those rules are back in force.

Last week, Jones’ office resumed enforcement of curb and traffic parking rules; now, workers will be patrolling the meters again and giving tickets for violations as before.

Jones said the parking division would provide more information about adjustments to any late penalties on prior violations as the economy begins to re-open.
