Philanthropic organization welcomes grant applications

The St. Louis Philanthropic Organization is inviting 501(c)(3) organizations to submit applications for its 2021 Responsive Grants cycle. Grant requests must not exceed $10,000 and must be solely for programs that provide services to St. Louis city residents. Agencies may submit only one application per grant cycle.

The original and two copies of the application, along with one copy of the required attachments, must be received – not just postmarked – no later than 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 5 at the SLPO office, 20 South Sarah Street, St. Louis, MO  63108.Applications will not be accepted by email or fax.  They may be delivered to the SLPO office by U.S. mail or hand delivered.

Agencies may also ask that a copy of the application and instructions be emailed to them by contacting the SLPO office at Office hours are Mondays and Thursdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and Fridays, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

On Dec. 16th at 10:00 a.m., the SLPO board will host a grant-writing workshop to help agencies apply. Group that want to apply are highly encouraged to attend the workshop. Please register in advance at:

The SLPO Board is working with Mosaic Beginnings to provide a series of free capacity-building workshops for area nonprofits. Mosaic Beginnings is a management consulting firm with a diverse team of consultants who help groups with their organizational tasks and goals. In addition to grant-writing, workshops on financial management and program evaluation will be offered in January and March, respectively.

Staff is home to The NorthSider and The SouthSider weekly community newspapers. The SouthSider publishes 25,000 copies every Tuesday. The NorthSider publishes 25,000 copies every Thursday. They are distributed at over 600 locations across St. Louis.
