Affinia Healthcare, Beyond Housing to host COVID-19 vaccination site

PINE LAWN – Affinia Healthcare is hosting a COVID-19 coronavirus vaccination event on Saturday at the headquarters of Beyond Housing.

The first dose of the Moderna vaccine will be given by appointment between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the offices at 6506 Wright Way. Appointments can be made on the Affinia Healthcare website at https://affiniahealthcare.org/covid-19/

Dr. Kendra Holmes, Senior VP and Chief Operating Officer at Affinia Healthcare, said in a statement, “We are grateful for the partnership and support of Beyond Housing as we work to ensure equitable access to the COVID-19 vaccine.” 

Affinia started offering COVID-19 testing in April 2020 and has performed more than 28,000 of the tests by now. In January 2021 it started provided vaccinations, more than 11,000 so far. The group’s mission is to provide access to critical health care resources for area residents who might not get it otherwise.

Chris Krehmeyer, Beyond Housing’s president and CEO, said that his organization was “thrilled” to continue its long partnership with Affinia. 

“Our community deserves to have easy access to the COVID-19 vaccines, and together with Affinia we can make that happen,” he said.

In addition to special COVID-19 vaccination events, Affinia is currently offering the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines by appointment for people 16 years old or older at the Affinia locations at 1717 Biddle Street and 2900 Washington Avenue.
