DOWNTOWN – The City Water Division has lifted the precautionary boil water advisory it issued Wednesday for large section of the city after a 36-inch water main broke, flooding streets around Lucas and Washington avenues.
“The Water Division conducted several tests of water samples in affected areas and has verified the water is not contaminated and is safe to consume,” the division said Thursday in a statement.
Mayor Tishaura Jones tweeted, “If you are able, please support the businesses in the area who experienced losses because of yesterday’s boil order.”
