Dogs can ride St. Louis Wheel for National Puppy Day

Who’s a good dog? Yours is! To celebrate your friendship and National Puppy Day, The St. Louis Wheel at Union Station will welcome canine passengers for the first time ever on Wednesday, March 23.

On Wednesday only, dogs can ride free with their ticketed humans. Tickets are available in person at the Wheel box office or online at

The 200-foot-tall observation wheel’s 42 gondolas are kept at a comfortable 72 degrees all year, so pups will be cozy no matter the weather. Human and doggie riders will get a 20-mile view of the St. Louis skyline from the top of the popular attraction.

The Wheel is open from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.

National Puppy Day was founded in 2006 to celebrate dogs and to bring awareness to the number of pups that need to be rescued and adopted throughout the United States.

The St. Louis Wheel is at 201 S. 18th Street next to Union Station.
